Wall Art 101

Decorating our apartment's barren walls is one of the joys in my life.  I have yet to get things settled the way I want them.  Much to my husbands dismay, this means that I am continually scouring our local thrift stores for painted canvases that I can remake.  My latest project is to create some wall decor for the empty space above our bed. (The inspiration is thanks to my side addiction to pinterest.)

I love crafting :)

A Magary Christmas

Better late than never, our Magary Christmas was full of excitement.  We visited my family in Illinois, where we also met my brother and sister and their families.  This year we have 6 children between the ages of 1 and 6.  Needless to say it made things interesting, never a dull moment.  Our celebration included opening stockings and presents, receiving our annual Christmas pajamas (Eric and I received matching pjs...), lots of yummy food, a miller family Christmas, and a special nativity play.

A Christmas Nativity, Eric played the donkey...because he is the hairiest.

Aislynn led the cast in a chorus of Away in a Manger

Merry Christmas from Illinois!

Special Times

Sometimes things happen in the late hours of the night that have no explanation.  That need no explanation.

My Dilemma

I have a major dilemma.  I enjoy TV (especially since my husband and I have magically had cable for the past 5 months). But what do you do on a night where there are several quality shows on at the same time?  Back in the day we would simply pop in a vhs and tape one of them.  You richies out there with DVR can record shows to your heart's content.  But me, I have nothing...no hope. This is my dilemma.

On Tuesday nights I must choose between Glee and Cupcake Wars.  Then I must choose between Dance Moms and New Girl.

Each of these shows brings something important to my life.

Glee: I love singing, dancing, and teen angst. Enough said.

Cupcake Wars:  The baker within loves to watch and think, "someday I'll make that."
)

Dance Moms: I can't really explain it.  It is similar to my love for Toddlers and Tiaras.  It's simply addicting.
Abby Lee Miller with dancers Brooke, Maddie, Nia, Mackenzie, Paige and Chloe

New Girl: One of the greatest new comedies on TV.  I love awkwardness.

I am without hope. Any ideas?

A de Araujo Christmas

Life has been moving quickly over the past two months, so quickly that my blog has been left in the dust. For this I am very sorry.  One of my New Year's resolutions was to blog like it is my job...this has yet to happen.  So today I make a change.  Get ready for life update galore!

By the time husband and I had finished school, Christmas break had never looked so good.  We readied ourselves for a whirlwind family filled Christmas.  The plan: to spend the first four days with the de Araujo clan and then the second four days with the Magary crew.

Our de Araujo Christmas included ornament making, Sherlock Holmes watching, stocking opening, present giving and receiving, rook playing, and a whole lot of wonderful food and fellowship.

Merry Christmas From Michigan!
